EnerNex® Corporation Consults Canadian Utility on Smart Metering and Infrastructure ProgramKNOXVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 26, 2007— EnerNex Corporation has been awarded a contract from BC Hydro to provide consulting services for the review and prioritization of business requirements for their Smart Metering and Infrastructure (SMI) Project and will begin immediately. The company is assisting BC Hydro to analyze the captured information and identify missing opportunities to meet their smart metering initiatives. EnerNex will use the collected data to ensure that existing Use cases and requirements have identified values. The information will also be used to propose suggestions and alternatives to the RFP documents for the SMI project. This support is a building block in the process leading to specifying, deploying and implementing smart metering infrastructure to BC Hydro’s customers. SMI has attracted increased attention within the electric power industry in an effort to modernize and develop a more intelligent and reliable electric power system around the world. Regulatory bodies will be examining the feasibility of establishing conservation-based electricity pricing programs and implementing the smart metering necessary to support such pricing programs. In the past two years, EnerNex has been engaged in similar projects with Southern California Edison and Consumers Energy. According to EnerNex co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Erich Gunther, EnerNex will utilize the experience and methodologies established during the previous projects to assist BC Hydro.
