Grid-Interop 2011 = Progress
by Jeremy Laundergan, Director, Utility Services Consulting
The one word to describe the 2011 Grid-Interop event is Progress.
Progress being made in the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) with the population of the Catalog of Standards (CoS) and the soon to be released 2nd version of the Interoperability Process Reference Manual (IPRM).
Progress with live demonstrations of interoperable products during the Plug-in demonstration event.
Progress in providing consumers with information about their electricity usage through the Green Button initiative.
And progress in both understanding and addressing the cyber security aspects of grid modernization.
