Carrie Parks joined EnerNex in November 2008 as the Public Relations and Marketing Manager.
She is responsible for planning and helping to implement the company’s marketing and communications programs, managing the EnerNex web site, maintaining company marketing collateral and publishing the employee newsletter. Carrie also leads EnerNex’s public relations activities and plans tradeshow participation.
Prior to joining EnerNex, Carrie was the Marketing Communications Specialist for HR Solutions International, Inc., a human capital management consulting firm located in Chicago. In that capacity, Carrie provided media relations management, promoted and publicized the organization, and coordinated marketing materials and event planning activities for annual tradeshows.
Carrie was previously the Development Director for ParentingPartners, a non-profit organization in Columbia, S.C., dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect. While at this organization, Carrie’s responsibilities included event planning and fundraising, performing grant research and proposals, communicating with the board of directors concerning marketing ventures, and raising awareness about the agency to the community, funding partners and major corporations.
In college, she was the Public Relations Assistant at the University of South Carolina’s Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism Management School. There, Carrie drafted press releases and brochures, as well as assisted with website announcements and compiled college news articles.
Carrie received her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from The University of South Carolina in 2006. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Volunteer Chapter.
