Jiaxin joined EnerNex’s Power System Engineering Team in August of 2010 after finishing his doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, where he worked as a research assistant to conduct power system studies focusing on wide-area monitoring system for interconnected power systems, wind turbine modeling and control, harmonic analysis for power electronics-based systems.

Prior to his work at Tennessee Technological University, he worked as a research assistant in State Key Laboratory of Safety Science of Power Transmission and Transformation and New Techniques of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing, China. During this period, he pursued his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering at Chongqing University. As a research assistant, he focused on the monitoring and protection of power system equipment.

In summer 2010, he did an internship in Argonne National Laboratory for a smart grid project. In this project, Jiaxin, as a power engineer, cooperated with the scientists and engineers in mathematical and computer domains to study the implementation of agent-based modeling techniques for smart grid.
