Knoxville, Tenn., November 16 2006 - EnerNex Corporation is pleased to announce that Ron Farquharson is joining the company as a consultant in utility automation. He has over twenty five years experience in substation control, automation and monitoring. Farquharson spent the bulk of his career at GE/GE Harris/Harris/Westronic. Recently, he was part of a team at GE leading the development of a new transformer management system incorporating advanced condition analysis with communications and automation technologies.
"Ron will be assisting in applying the EPRI IntelliGrid systems engineering approach to numerous utility automation projects. Ron will also take the lead in managing our utility communications seminars and our IEC 61850 testing and certification business," said Jeff Lamoree, President of EnerNex Corporation. "We are looking forward to Ron helping us maintain and increase our effectiveness in supporting and applying the IntelliGrid architecture and related modern grid initiatives in the electric power industry."
Farquharson holds a Diploma of Electronics Engineering Technology from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and has completed numerous Management Certificate courses at the University of Calgary. Ron has also completed his GE Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. He has authored a number of papers on topics related to substation monitoring & diagnostics, integration, automation and communications. Farquharson is a member of the IEEE Power Engineering Society, Substations Committee and has chaired a Task Force on Applications of Computer Technology to Substations. He has contributed to many IEEE Substations Committee standards efforts. He currently serves on the Advisory Committee for the DistribuTECH conference.
