Aaron Snyder is a Prinicipal Consultant and Deputy Director of Smart Grid Labs. He joined the Smart Grid Engineering Team at EnerNex, but his skills and background allow him to also work with the Power Systems Engineers. He is the deputy project manager for the NIST SGIP Administrator and the technical champion for four of the seventeen SGIP priority action plans. He was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the UCA International Users Group, and chairs and participates in numerous metering standards development activities at national and international levels. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
Before joining EnerNex, Aaron held a position as a Regulatory Standards Manager for Itron, Inc. In this capacity, Aaron determined corporate strategy for electricity metering and data acquisition products based on established and pre-release market requirements, national and international regulations and domestic and international standards. He also delivered gap analysis of existing products’ performance and market and technical requirements, edited technical materials for internal and external customers and represented electricity metering products for customers at trade shows and technical conferences.
Prior to Itron, Aaron worked as a Consulting R&D Engineer for ABB, Inc., US Corporate Research Center. While in this position, he developed requirements and use cases, evaluated software systems and led a project to implement 1.4MUSD vendor managed inventory project for three disparate product divisions.
Aaron has received numerous awards and scholarships. He is also fluent in spoken and written French, after having lived in France for more than four years.
