[CESI + EnerNex Webinar] Cybersecurity OT | Focus on the Electrical Sector

by | Feb 17, 2021 | Article, Webinars

In the past few years cybersecurity has become a major concern for grid operational systems.

OT has to integrate new functionalities: leveraging Internet connectivity and increased communications among systems while also protecting against incoming threats and providing resiliency during cyber attacks.

In this webinar, we explore how cybersecurity must be a crucial aspect in the design, development and maintenance of OT systems in the electrical sector. We’ll cover international and US regulatory requirements, as well as the standards and leading practices that are being followed to protect and defend our critical electrical infrastructures.

About the Presenters

Davide Piccagli, Automation & Innovative Solutions Product Leader, CESI

Davide has been playing a leading role in Smart Grid implementation support consultancy project for the National Power Transmission Corporation of Vietnam & the World Bank and on a project for Analysis and Assessment of Energy Efficiency on Transmission Grids in Turkey. Moreover, regarding cybersecurity, he dealt with review of cyber risk assessment activities, editing of operating procedures for the implementation of cybersecurity measures of OT systems, and implementation of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans for OT systems. Davide has also been leading several CESI efforts for the development of a short time load forecaster for the Italian National Transmission Control Centre. He has also led works both on the digital signal processing application on WAMS data for estimation of network stability and on the development of algorithms for forecasting loads implemented in dynamic rating.
Davide obtained his Doctorate in Telecommunication Engineering in 2007 at ´Politecnico di Milano.´ He also holds a Masters in Information Security Management at Cefriel (MIP, Politecnico di Milano) received in 2018.
