Knoxville, Tenn., USA, November 2, 2017 — EnerNex, a leading electric power research, engineering and consulting firm, is seeing an increase in grid modernization work and is currently involved in a number of leading utility engagements around the world, including projects in California, Louisiana, Hawaii and Saudi Arabia to name a few. In general, these projects assist clients in developing a grid modernization strategy necessary to support a more customer-centric utility future.

“Grid modernization efforts are helping utilities and their customers maximize the use of today’s latest technologies and are transforming the way we generate, store, transmit and distribute electricity”, stated Jeff Lamoree, EnerNex co-founder and CEO. “Accordingly, EnerNex is expanding our staff of industry professionals with knowledge and expertise to support the breadth and depth of grid modernization initiatives.”

Neil Placer joins EnerNex as the Director of Utility Services Consulting. Placer offers an in-depth understanding of the energy sector and is a frequent speaker and author on the future of the utility industry. In 2015, he was awarded an Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Technology Transfer Award for Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Distribution System Impacts Research. He has nearly 20 years of work experience and brings a unique, cross-cutting industry perspective, having worked for major corporations in both the solar energy and electric utility sectors.
