EnerNex is working with the EISP program manager on specifying the security framework for communications to and with TVA customers, consulting with internal TVA business units (such as Power Control Systems, Demand Response, etc.) on their Smart Grid projects, following industry and government consortiums such as National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) NAESB, OpenSG, etc. EnerNex will also ensure that the selection of the vendor(s) solution ensures compliance with TVA EISP policies and standards and complies with all applicable Federal, industry and local compliance legislation and rules. One requirement for EnerNex to complete this project was to have experience in demand response, voltage curtailment, ICCP, power distribution, IEC 61850 standard, NAESB PAP10, key management, cryptography, and wireless communications. This project is ongoing, projected to be approximately a one-year engagement with reassessment of the need for continuing services to occur at the end of that period.
