About the Presenters

Davide Piccagli, Automation & Innovative Solutions Product Leader, CESI

Davide has been playing a leading role in Smart Grid implementation support consultancy project for the National Power Transmission Corporation of Vietnam & the World Bank and on a project for Analysis and Assessment of Energy Efficiency on Transmission Grids in Turkey. Moreover, regarding cybersecurity, he dealt with review of cyber risk assessment activities, editing of operating procedures for the implementation of cybersecurity measures of OT systems, and implementation of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans for OT systems. Davide has also been leading several CESI efforts for the development of a short time load forecaster for the Italian National Transmission Control Centre. He has also led works both on the digital signal processing application on WAMS data for estimation of network stability and on the development of algorithms for forecasting loads implemented in dynamic rating.
Davide obtained his Doctorate in Telecommunication Engineering in 2007 at ´Politecnico di Milano.´ He also holds a Masters in Information Security Management at Cefriel (MIP, Politecnico di Milano) received in 2018.

 

 

Ron Chebra, Vice President of Grid Modernization, EnerNex

Ron is a recognized thought leader and industry expert in utility modernization. He has deep operating knowledge of technology solutions in areas such as microgrids, battery energy storage, renewable energy integration, smart grid, distribution automation, advanced metering infrastructure, demand response and “Behind the Meter” technologies. He provides strategic consulting services to leading energy organizations and to industry suppliers of products and services. Ron is a frequent contributor to leading industry journals and has previously been the Chairman of the Smart Cities/IoT Track for DistribuTECH. Ron has over 35 years of experience, including previous positions with Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Schneider Electric and DNV GL.
